Large Contract in the Netherlands
Earlier this year, the umbrella consortium comprised of the TBI, Dura Vermeer, Oord and BESIX firms, which operate in the engineering, construction and infrastructure sectors, awarded Dyckerhoff Basal a large contract to supply approximately 450,000 m³ of ready-mix concrete in Rotterdam.
Basal will supply concrete and mortar for two new large projects in Rotterdam, “De Groene Boogʺ and “Theemswegtracéʺ, in a contract worth 40 million euros.
For the ʺDe Groene Boogʺ project Basal will supply 400,000 m³ of material between 2019 and 2022 to build a new 11 km stretch of highway, an aqueduct, a tunnel and various overpasses, viaducts and other structures.
The ʺTheemswegtracéʺ project involves building a viaduct and a 4-kilometer stretch of railway line. For the construction of the “Theemswegtracéʺ, which will require the modification of roads, rails and pipelines, Basal will supply 50,000 m³ of concrete between 2019 and 2020.
The concrete for both projects will be delivered from our plants in Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague and Dordrecht. During peak periods, we will also be able to use a mobile concrete mixing. The cement will be supplied by the Dyckerhoff plants in Neuss and Neuwied. Basal will deliver standard and high-strength concrete, suitable also for underwater and fire-resistant applications.
