Cimento Nacional strengthens sustainability commitment with new wind energy partnership
Cimento Nacional, in collaboration with Casa dos Ventos, a leading Brazilian producer of renewable energy, has launched a strategic partnership for the self-production of electricity. This initiative will ensure 100% of the energy required for Cimento Nacional’s operations through wind power.
The project is set to generate an average of 65 MW of clean energy over 15 years, significantly contributing to sustainability efforts. It will include the installation of 44 wind turbines, which will help reduce approximately 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The energy will be supplied by the Serra do Tigre Wind Complex in Rio Grande do Norte and the Babilônia Sul Wind Complex in Bahia.
This partnership underscores Cimento Nacional’s commitment to sustainability and aligns with Buzzi’s global strategy of continuously investing in production efficiency, alternative fuels, and clean energy. By adopting renewable energy solutions, the company is actively contributing to the energy transition of the cement industry in Brazil.
